Classes
Intensity ratings are provided to give you an idea of the pace of class and amount of physical exertion you can expect. They are certainly not meant to be an indicator of beginner vs. advanced! Anyone is welcome to attend any class and we often provide options for modification of intensity or for mobility restrictions. Most of our classes generally require the ability to get down to the floor and back up unassisted, but please email Dara at info@dmwellnessyoga.com if you have specific questions or concerns about how a class will work for you.
Here's a look at what the intensity levels mean:
1: These classes are typically fully grounded and intended primarily for relaxation and rest. Often a variety of seated and lying down postures, with props.
2: These classes are mostly grounded with some standing postures, but limited balance.
3: These classes include a well-rounded set of movements with grounded, standing, and sometimes balancing postures. Expect a slow-to-moderate pace and active muscular engagement in the body.
4: These classes are of moderate intensity and pace, typically building into some flowing movements and will likely include more balance work.
5: These classes combine moderately paced movements with the addition of dumbbells or other props to increase cardiovascular intensity. Strength and balance are a key focus.

After that, we dive into some core work to help you find inner strength and stability. Class ends with a quick cool down of yin postures. Come get energized and feel strong heading into your day!
Roll & Restore
Feel of Class: Relaxing & Refreshing
Physical Intensity: 1/5
This practice is designed to support the release of physical tension in the body through self-massage and myofascial release (trigger points) using Yoga Tune-Up therapy balls - the "Roll" portion of class. Then we'll shift gears into yin and restorative yoga postures using a variety of props to find physical comfort and rest for not only your body, but also your mind - the "Restore" portion of class. This session always ends with a long savasana.
You are also welcome to arrive up to 10-15 minutes early if you'd like to get settled into your practice with a journal prompt or time for quiet meditation.
